
Bansal, through his microfinance firm Chaitanya India, has applied for a banking licence. And this is just the start. The 38-year-old entrepreneur, who built India’s largest online retailer Flipkart and sold his stake to US retail giant Walmart for $1 billion in 2018, is putting nearly all his money into building a digital financial services empire.
